Plymouth Media-Partnership (PM-P) is supported by the South West Regional Development Agency (www.southwestrda.org.uk) through South West Screen (www.swscreen.co.uk) and by Plymouth City Council (www.plymouth.gov.uk) .
The objectives of PM-P are:
- to develop and promote the greater Plymouth areas diverse screen based industries.
- to develop a networking forum to foster and develop links and commercial partnerships amongst creative industries in and around the greater Plymouth area.
- to offer business support and development opportunities to our members
PM-P supports a broad range of sectors including television, film and radio, facilities houses, interactive media, animation, website design, marketing design and music composers.
PM-P is to be the one point of contact for all creative professionals to showcase their services to a wider audience and to collectively attract new business and foster the development of technology, skills and training in the area.
PM-P aims to:
- develop and promote the greater Plymouth areas diverse screen based industries.
- be inclusive to all creative professionals in the area.
- develop the national and international profile of the area and to maximise national and international trading opportunities.
- collaborate with the local academic and training organisations to provide guidance on the quality and relevance of courses.
- review and publicise funding opportunities that provide assistance to producers.
- promote exhibitions and festivals, and organise exhibitions within the area.
- promulgate relevant information to creative industries across the area.
- to liaise with similar networks and the public sector to build relationships across the South West, United Kingdom and globally.
The key objectives for this sector are to:
- increase prosperity.
- create the right conditions for growth.
- improve business competitiveness.
- encourage investment in skills and training.
- improve business and individual opportunity.
- increase value from partnership working and economic intelligence.
- encourage investment in new technology.
- ensure that development is sustainable economically, environmentally and socially.
